I was thinking for a while whether I should keep myself anonymous or let the world know who I am… and I’ve decided to bite the bullet!
My name is Claire and I’m a 20-something mathematics student currently in degree limbo. I say degree limbo as I’m finishing off my Masters and preparing for a PhD. And I mean limbo as in a complete void of nothingy nothingness, not the pole orientated party game… I digress.
My teachers branded me as having “absolutely no mathematical talent whatsoever” in secondary school, so I set out on my life long vendetta to prove them wrong. Also I actually secretly enjoyed mathematics and it kept me off the streets.
As I got further through my University education, I decided that selling my soul to become an accountant was definitely not something I wanted to do in a hurry (I don’t like suits and also it means joining the real world) so chose to start on the path to becoming a Mathematician, blending in neatly with my fluffy hair and penchant for tweed.
